Cactus House – Best Rental Accomodation Ever”
We spent ten wonderful days at Cactus House which is situated on a hill with a panoramic view over Jolly Harbour and beyond. We loved the house – which has four large double or twin ensuite bedrooms, three of which overlook the pool deck and the large infinity pool with a view, while upstairs is a large light living area and full kitchen area, with equally large outdoor living area divided between the shady lounge/ dining veranda and the sunny BBQ veranda. The house is beautifully decorated and furnished, and comes complete with laundry room, pool shower room, and wifi. There are restaurants just opposite the drive, at the hotel next door, with more within walking distance in Jolly Harbour, and the lovely unspoilt Valley Church Beach is also within walking distance. The owner, Roger is friendly and helpful, and the rental includes transfers to and from the airport. We have rented lovely villas in many places around the world but Cactus House is easily the best we have ever stayed at. All in all a fantastic place to stay.

“Stayed here and our family of 5 had a very good experience. House is in a quiet position near Jolly Harbour so very convenient for tourist infrastructure. The restaurants were close by and of high standard, also beaches were uncrowded (actually almost empty ).
The Villa was clearly well maintained – nothing broke during our stay, everything worked perfectly and whole place was spotlessly clean. Pool was crystal clear and of a very good size, even for the kids inflatables.
There was plenty of space inside and the outdoor veranda is the size of a stadium – well almost ! I do not think anybody could be disappointed with this Villa, so we can totally recommend it”

We had an incredible stay at the Cactus House, which exceeded all of our expectations! Roger was extremely forthcoming with our many questions prior to rental, and gave a very accurate description of what to expect. The property was impeccable, luxuriously and tastefully decorated and outfitted and there was an amazing amount of space for three generations to be more than comfortable. We honestly felt that we must have the nicest houses on the entire island and I found myself double-checking that the cost was only the amount I recalled. We were warmly greeted by Lava at the airport, who imparted us with tons of great information on the drive from the airport to the house. Waiting for us was Hazel, who gave us a wonderful tour, ensured that every need and question had been addressed, and even insisted on driving us to the grocery store since our rental car wasn’t coming until the next day. Hazel was lovely, warm, and very professional, and she checked in with us regularly throughout the week via telephone to ensure we were enjoying ourselves and that our every need was met. We felt tremendously pampered during our stay, and did not mind the unseasonal 5 days of rain that we experienced because of our lovely accomodations and the fact that we could still spend all of our time outdoors on the covered deck and patio. The pool and views were beautiful, and it was a fantastic location from which to explore the island. A rental car would definitely be recommended. Don’t miss this one!

“After a very slow start with major delays at the airport we were very pleased to find this beautiful retreat. The villa was perfect. Everything you could ask for was available.
Very well equipped and homely villa. The pool was a very welcome break from the sunbathing.
Although there is a hotel “Sugar Ridge” next door to the villa it occupies a very quiet position with the added bonus of entertainment and fine dining just at the end of the drive. Excellent !! The beaches were fabulous and our favorite by far was Valley Church with the “Nest beach bar”. We had a most wonderful holiday and would love to return again. You could not wish for a more perfect holiday.”

“We had a great time in Antigua and your house was the perfect holiday base for our family. We immediately felt at home – it’s nice, well equipped, location is perfect. Valley Church beach is the most incredible in our view and the Jolly harbor marina is very convenient. You have done a good job with the new pool deck.
Both Hazel and Iris from Sunny car rentals were very efficient and we have even enjoyed a baby-sitting service on night. Our only disappointment was to leave but it is just a 20 minute flight to our home in Guadeloupe.

“Had a fantastic holiday here in this lovely villa. Sun shone every day, something we miss now back at home. The Villa was superb and well appointed close to quiet beaches. Valley beach closest and ideal for children – I still don’t believe the blue colour of the sea. Ventured into St Johns for lots of duty free shopping and the mega liners made good sightseeing.
The house is spotless and obviously very well maintained. In a very peaceful setting, but still close to everything. No maintenance issues whatsoever but a nice touch was that Yasmine the house keeper kept in touch just in case we needed anything.
Beds were very comfortable and all rooms large. The shaded veranda was massive and a welcome rest from the sun after spending too much time in the pool. The garden was large with plenty of space for the children to run around in – there is even outdoor table tennis to keep them amused. Had many BBQs so the children could have some early nights, but local restaurants were also good quality and not expensive. Try Benjamins and Melinis for both the food and the views. Go to Al Porto in the harbour for the sunsets. Supermarket was comparable to a small hypermarket back home and we needed for nothing. Spent a day being pampered in the Spa next door also good value for a 5 star Hotel
We had it all – sun, sea, scuba and very friendly people everywhere. A perfect holiday in a wonderful house.”
